Configuring the Screen Saver options

NOTE: You can find information on downloading the OS X Sampler here. These screen shots are from version 10.4. Version 10.5 may differ in details, but the functionality is the same.

Setting the Desktop Options

To configure our screen saver to display the collection images as wallpaper follow the steps below:
Open "System Preferences"
Click the "Desktop & Screen Saver" icon
Select the "Screen Saver" tab
Select "Second Nature" from the list of Screen Savers
Click the "Options" button
Select the "Desktop" tab
Under "Rotate Desktop Picture:" select "On"
Under "Display a New Picture Every:" adjust the slider to how often you want the desktop picture to change.

We use the Apple Desktop control panel setting to control how you want the images displayed (Fill Screen, Stretch to fill screen, Center, or Tile) so adjust that setting as needed.

Creating Your Own Collections


Figure 8 - This shows the location of the User Collection folder that's located in the Library folder . There's more than one Library folder on your computer. You need to be sure to open the Library folder under your USER ACCOUNT.
To create your own collection: Create a new folder in the User Collections folder, give the folder a name, and copy your images into the folder. When you select the Active Collection, as shown in Figure 2, the folder you created will be shown in the drop down list.
