What do I do if the link sent in the email is not working?
The link that you should be clicking on to access your personalized download page looks something like this example:
http://downloads.secondnature.com/index.php?x=e31802rbiqqaj5n
and it is very possible that when you received the email, that this link between 2 lines got broken, as it sometimes does with AOL. If that is the case, then you need to copy the entire link and then paste it into a new browser window. Then you should be able to access your purchased download collections.

How do I copy and paste the link, especially if I'm an AOL customer?
Here's how to do the copy and paste. Just put your cursor over the beginning of the link, then move it to the right while you're holding down the left part of the mouse. When you get to the end, release the left mouse. Then right click on the highlighted link, and select Copy. Now go onto the internet at the top of the page where you see the address. Just delete what's there, and then put your mouse at the beginning of the line, and then use your keyboard to hit "control" (bottom left hand corner) and the V key. It will paste the link there. Then hit Enter.

What should I do if a download fails repeatedly?
If the file download fails repeatedly, it could mean many things. Usually it indicates that the server where you are trying to download from is busy, your IP is busy or the file has downloaded and become corrupt. You may want to try deleting the partial download and try to download again. Sometimes when a download fails (and the file becomes corrupt) no matter how many times you try to re-download it is not successful, and so it will have to be deleted first, before downloading again.

Installing Collections at Work
How do I view my collections at work, when my company doesn't allow downloads?
A number of our customers have had success following this procedure: Download the collection at home, choosing SAVE when given a choice. Choose a convenient place to save the collection, such a zip disk, CD, removable hard drive, or flash memory card (such as SD, Compact Flash, etc). Also download the "Sampler" from our "Free Screen Savers and Updates" web page and save it in the same place. When you get to work, run the Sampler first to install the software. Then double click the collection file to install that. Be sure to use the same email and zip code you used when placing the order.

Update my email address or zip code information
A number of customers change their emails quite frequently, so we have now made it simple for a customer who has purchased collections to change their own email address for their account. Just log into My Collections (top of blue column on home page) http://www.secondnaturecd.com/ and you can submit your new email address or new zip code. We want to make it as simple and as quick as possible for our customers. Other people who are not yet a customer, may contact Terry to have their email updated.

My Collections
What is "My Collections" at the top of the blue, left hand column of the Second Nature home page?
After you purchase a Collection, the "My Collections" page features a personalized download page including all of your purchased Collection(s). And this makes it easy to find your collections once you've purchased them. Simply click on the "My Collections" link in the blue column to the left!

What if I lose my personalized download page link?

If not, it will ask for your email address and send the link to you. Please note: Be sure to enter the same email address that you used to place the order.
Your browser MUST be set to accept cookies in order to use "My Collections".

What if I don't have cookies enabled, how can I get the download link?
Here's how to enable cookies if you're using IE so you can see your collections in My Collections. (Netscape users please follow Netscape's directions for cookies.) Go to Tools at the top of IE. Internet Options. Privacy. There's a sliding selection on the left. You can lower the setting temporarily. After the setting for cookies has been lowered, go to the bottom of the My Collections page, where it says "Trouble Downloading." Enter your email address and you'll automatically get an email with a link to your collections. After you have downloaded your collections, you may want to go back to the Cookie setting in IE and reset the cookie level you want.

Missing your weekly newsletter?
Why has my newsletter stopped coming even though I opted to receive it?
~It may be that your email service has accidentally blocked the newsletter and put it in your Junk mail. Or you may have changed your email address and forgotten to let Second Nature know. Error Messages
What if I get the error message "03 Customer not recognized" when I am trying to install?
This error message is generated when you enter an email address or zip code that does not match your customer record. Your customer record is created when you place your order in our store. You must use the exact email address and zip code that you used when you placed the order. For example: if you used your zip plus four code, then you must enter this same information when you are installing your Collection.

If you are installing on a Macintosh, our installer requires a minimum of 5 alpha/numeric characters. If your postal code is less than this, enter a blank space(s) using the space bar to reach five. This does NOT apply to Windows.

What if I get the error message " -03 Failed to open file" when I am trying to install?
The installer generates the error message “Sorry, the unlock attempt failed with the following error (-3) Failed to open file” when it cannot download necessary information from the Authorization Server. Be sure you are connected to the Internet prior to launching the installer. Also some firewalls (such as SyGate and others)and/or anti-virus programs block our requests. If you get this error, you must disable your Personal Firewall software and/or antivirus program while installing, and then after installation, enable it again.

What if I get the error message "05 Installs Depleted" when I am trying to install?
This error message is generated when you exceed the number of installations that we have allowed. Please contact terry@secondnature.com if you need additional installations.

Coupon & Gift Certificates
Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Yes, just visit our Gift Certificate & Cool Stuff page. We'll send an email to the gift recipient within minutes announcing your gift. The lucky gift recipient may download their gift as soon as they receive that gift announcement email from Terry in customer service.

How do I use a Gift Certificate I received?
~Just browse through the Second Nature store, select what you'd like to buy, and place your order. Be sure to insert the Gift Certificate code during the checkout process.
~When you enter the Gift Certificate code, be sure to enter the complete Gift Certificate code, including the "@" sign.
~If you use the Regular Check-Out Method, at the bottom of the Payment screen on the bottom left, enter your special coupon code. If you use the Yahoo Wallet Method, at the bottom of the Review screen on the bottom left, enter your special coupon code.
~The discount will be reflected in the final amount owed. Happy Shopping!

When I enter my coupon (or gift certificate) code it says "Sorry, we were unable to validate the Code you entered", what do I do?
You must enter the code EXACTLY as it appears including all characters and spacing. If you do not enter it correctly, it will not be recognized. You might want to copy and paste the coupon or gift certificate code. That way you can be sure it is correct and you don't misstype anything.

What if I forgot to enter my coupon?
You will not get the discount. You will need to contact Terry to cancel your order and then resubmit a new order with the coupon code entered correctly.

New Computer
What should I do if I get a new computer?
Probably the best and easiest thing to do to make sure you "keep" your collections is to copy the file that you downloaded (including the free sampler) onto a zip disk or CD-Rom. Please note that "freebie" collections are not archived as part of your customer record, so be sure to make a copy of those snx files. When you get your new machine, copy the files on your hard drive, install the sampler first (since this is the software engine) and then each image collection. You will need to have a working Internet connection since you will need to enter your email address and zip code for authorization.

If you didn't want to copy the files, you can always re-download them as well. If you do not have the link sent in any of the confirmation emails simply go to our web site, click on the "My Collections" link in the blue left-hand column and it will either take you directly to your personalized download page or ask for your email and send the link to you. You must be sure to enter the email address that you used during your purchases since this is what is stored in your customer record. That's it! In fact, anytime you need to re-download or re-install you can access your purchased collections by using this method.

Please remember that due to network restrictions, we are unable to archive "freebie" collections. Be sure to make a copy of those snx files for possible future use.

Miscellaneous Questions
How do I select my wallpaper to be something other than Second Nature, and keep the screen saver being Second Nature?
Windows users can right-click on their Desktop, Properties. Click on on Desktop tab and choose what you want to use as your desktop wallpaper. Say OK.

What are the small balloon announcements?
These are reminders that Second Nature is featuring new collections and various collections on sale or discount coupons. The small announcement will pop up briefly and then disappear after a few seconds, unless you click on the announcement. When you click on the announcement, it will take you to the What's New at Second Nature page. Once you visit that page, you will no longer see the balloon announcement for that week. If you later want to go back to the What's New at Second Nature page, just visit the Second Nature home page, look in the blue column for What's New at Second Nature, and click there.

What does the “Upper Left Hot Corner” do?
Click on the Leaf icon in the system tray. Click on “Upper Left Hot Corner” then you make that corner of the computer monitor be a “hot” spot for the screen saver to start. This is useful for the sake of privacy. For example, if you’re working on a sensitive document, you can just move your mouse into the upper left hand corner and the screen saver will start.

Can I run more than one Second Nature collection at a time?
Yes! You may run many Second Nature collections at the same time. You can choose to display them randomly or one full collection at a time. Windows users can use the Image Manager which offers many options.
