Internet Explorer returns security warning messages

When you try to download a file our Web site, Microsoft Internet Explorer returns one of the following security warning messages:
  • "Warning: The authenticity of this content cannot be verified, therefore it cannot be trusted. Problem listed below:
  • A certificate (signing or issuer) has expired."
  • "The publisher cannot be determined due to the problems below: Authenticode signature not found."

You received this error message because you selected the "Run this program from its current location" option in the File Download dialog box.

Solutions: Do any of the following:
  1. Ignore the message and continue downloading the file. It will run as expected.
  2. Download the file using a Web browser that does not use Authenticode verification (e.g., Netscape Navigator or Opera).
  3. Save the file to your hard disk, and launch it manually.

Additional Information: Internet Explorer uses Authenticode verification to confirm whether a file you're running has a valid authentication certificate and hasn't been modified since it was created. When you try to run a piece of software whose certificate has expired or a file that was not digitally signed Internet Explorer returns a security warning message.

There is nothing wrong with the file, however, so you can download it and run it as expected.
