Artist Lori Schory was born in 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, to talented, artistic parents, both of whom were graduates of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Her father, an industrial designer, was more inclined toward the design of manufactured goods, while her mother was more of an illustrator and portrait artist. Between these two diverse influences, Lori was, at an early age, introduced to the many broad spectrums the art world has to offer. Lori experimented with many art techniques, mediums and styles from a very early age. Both of her parents proved to be invaluable influences on her artistic growth as her artistic career progressed.
By the time Lori was in high school, it was clear she would pursue an art-related career. In the year1981, she received a Master’s Degree in Drawing and Painting, with honors, from Northern Illinois University. Lori has been involved in art related endeavors/careers throughout her entire life.
Lori continually builds upon her early exposure to the arts, her college education, and her many years of diverse professional experience, in tackling every artistic assignment she encounters. Along the way, she has excelled in such unique and rewarding assignments as: Head Scenic Artist on the movie set for A Thousand Acres, a Touchstone Pictures film; a participant in a juried Collaborative Art Initiative at the New York Feminist Art Institute, NYC; and she has been sole proprietor of Lori’s Signs & Graphics for twenty years. Lori has mastered the ancient craft of hand-painting signs, lettering on glass and pictorial/mural painting. Lori traveled the southern United States hand lettering and mural painting for Carlson Restaurants Worldwide for their theme restaurants. Sometimes these commercial influences can even be seen in her fine art. Lori has a keen sense of composition, color and design.
Currently, Lori is pursuing licensing the use of her fine art on many types of manufactured goods. She is successfully licensing her very illustrative, innovative and colorful art on a variety of products, such as jigsaw puzzles (SunsOut Puzzles, White Mountain Puzzles, Ravensburger Puzzles, Elms Puzzles), music boxes (Cottage Garden), journals, photo albums and note cards (Pine Ridge Art), screen savers (Second Nature) and decorative switch plates and soaps (Art Plates). Most recently, she has signed several art print licensing contracts with Roaring Brook Art Company. Also, Tree Free Greetings inked a deal with Lori for greeting cards, note cards and gift bags and another new contract was signed on with CheckWorks.
Lori’s artwork is distinctively alive and uniquely eye-catching, beautiful and trend setting. Her artwork draws upon the beauty found in nature and brings life to a wide array of products. Lori is able to work in many styles and mediums and is willing to format her art to suit your every need.
Lori appreciates every opportunity to expand the list of licensees who appreciate her art and realize what it can do to influence positive sales growth for their company’s line. Thank you for taking the time to review a sampling of her artwork for considered use on your products.

A Relevant Quote by Author/Poet Sergio Bambaren from his book, The Dolphin-The Story of a Dreamer:
“There’ll come a time in life
When there is nothing left to do
But go your own way
A time to follow your dreams
A time to finally stand up for your own beliefs.
Some things will always be stronger
Than time and distance
Deeper than language and ways
Like following your dreams
And learning to be yourself
Sharing with others
The magic you have found."
Lori does this every day through her artwork.
