Slideshow Image Does Not Display On Macintosh Desktop

These instructions assume you are working with Slideshow version 3.01 or later on Mac OS 8.5 or later, but not Mac OS X. If you are working with an earlier version of Slideshow you will need to obtain and install the update to 3.01.

If you have installed Slideshow and re-started your system, but are not able to display an image from Slideshow as your wallpaper or background image and instead you have some other image displayed: This is most likely caused because of one of the situations below:
  • You have a third - party application currently enabled to handle displaying wallpaper/background images.
  • You have enabled a desktop "Picture" via your "Appearance" control panel.
If you have not selected your current desktop image via the "Appearance" Control Panel, you need to determine what you have selected to display the current image and disable it. If you have enabled a desktop "Picture" via your "Appearance" control panel, the steps below should help you to remove your current desktop image.
  1. Open the "Appearance" Control Panel either from the Control Panels menu in the Apple Menu or via the "Control Panels" folder within your "System Folder".
  2. Select the "Desktop" tab from the "Appearance" Control Panel.
  3. Click the Remove Picture button.
  4. Click the Set Desktop button to remove the picture.
  5. Close the "Appearance" Control Panel.
