Tim Thompson has been a freelance photographer since 1972 and has shot extensively on all seven continents during his career. Thompson, who does a blend of travel, landscape and photojournalism work, has done assignments for most of the major U.S. publications. He has done two magazine projects for National Geographic, as well as having contributed major sections to four Geographic books. He has also published frequently in Travel/Holiday, Islands, Travel & Leisure, and Endless Vacation. As well, Tim has published seven photo books, three of which were done for Smithsonian. These also include a book on the Pacific Coastline; the Alps; Ireland and a newly released book on Puget Sound. The photographer lives just outside Seattle on Bainbridge Island.
