Spring, glorious spring has been joyously celebrated and enjoyed throughout the centuries. Monet’s Printemps a Givery in 1903 with its short, spontaneous brushwork and bright colors captures the beauty of trees blossoming in spring. Dutch Baroque artist, Balthasar van der Ast, paints an exquisite floral still life of flowers in 1625. Under the Blossom that Hangs on the Bough by J.W. Godward is a romantic image featuring a flawless young woman posed dreamily beneath the bright spring blossoms. Filled with pure, vivid color and exceptional detail is Appleblossom by William Biscombe Gardner with its serene pastoral scene of a flock of sheep grazing among the blossoming apple trees.
